Black History Month was first proposed in the late 1960s and officially recognized in 1978. Black History Month, celebrated during the month of February each year, recognizes the achievements and impact Black individuals have had on the history of the United States. Join us at the Recreation Center as we host along with a guest speaker the contributions of African Americans, past present to our society today.
